Resource
Mobilisation Programme |
It is commonly accepted by
most development actors in Lesotho, that civil society organisations
play a significant role in poverty eradication strategies, upholding
democratic values and culture and sustainable development in
Lesotho. Despite this NGOs experience difficulties in raising funds
and resources to do their work, due to the decline of funding in
Lesotho for a number of different reasons. As a result, it is
essential to explore different options in which civil society will
be assisted to source out funds and resources for their important
programmes.
The Resource Mobilisation Initiative is designed to assist NGOs to
secure resources and funds for civil society programmes in Lesotho.
It achieves this through:
- Training on fund
raising
- Assistance with
programming – particularly linkages to national objectives
- Marketing of
proposals
- Disseminating
information on grant giving bodies to NGOs
- Research on local
and international donors and fund giving organisations
- Building
understanding/ relationships between donors/ fund-giving
organisations and NGOs
