Lesotho Council of NGOs (LCN)
has organized a one day forum on 1st August 2006 at Victoria Hotel
in preparation for the SADC Council of Non Governmental
Organisations second Civil Society Forum meeting from 14th to 16th
August, 2006 in Maseru, Lesotho.
The preparation meeting is to bring together member NGOs to discuss
the agenda for the forthcoming forum as well as to decide on which
meetings to attend during that time. The second Civil Society Forum
meeting will take place from the 14th – 16th August 2006 and
coincide with SADC Heads of State and Governments Summit.
The theme for this year is “Democratic governance and Regional
Economic Integration”. Eminent speakers and specialists have been
invited for this year’s event. Parallel to this event, there will be
another event for social movement of which some NGOs have been
invited.
The first Regional Civil Society Forum of the “SADC Council of
Non-Governmental Organisations – SADC-CNGO” was also organised
parallel to the SADC-Summit in August 2005 in Botswana.
