The Lesotho Council of
Non-governmental Organisations (LCN) and Institutite of Development
Management (IDM) will hold a three-day training on Financial
Management for 10 Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) and 5
Community Based Organisations (CBOs) at IDM campus in Maseru on the
27th to 29th March, 2006.
The objective of the training is to equip participants with basic
skills in Financial Management. The training is part of the NGO
Institute Capacity Building Project supported by Bristol Meyers
Squibb Foundation with an overall goal to built NGOs and CBOs
capacity in organisational management to play and effective role in
HIV/AIDS response in Lesotho.
The training targets treasurer and financial managers on NGOs and
CBOs to enhance their skills in financial management. The training
follows Leadership and Governance workshop that took place in
January, 2006. On the pipeline are more training sessions on
Resource Mobilisation, Project Management and Mentorship. Trainers
are from IDM, LCN and IEMS.
The workshop has been organized by the Democratic Governance and
Elections Management Programme of the LCN which seeks to strengthen,
enhance and sustain democracy, governance and elections in Lesotho
and the Southern Africa Development Community region. The programme
works in the following areas; Civic Education, Role of
parliamentarians, Role of Councilors, Role of CSOs in influencing
policies, Public dialogue, Public institutions in enhancing
democracy, Election Governance and Management, Election observation,
Voter Education and Electoral Review. |
