Mentoring workshop at IDM 29th
January to 2nd February, 2006 |
The Lesotho Council of
NGOs in collaboration with IDM is currently holding a training
course in Mentoring at IDM Campus aimed at improving and
capacitating the personnel of NGOs in management and leadership in
their organizations.

The training started on the 29th January and would come to an end on
the 2nd February. The training is part of the NGO Institute Capacity
Building Project supported by Bristol Meyers Squibb Foundation with
an overall goal to built NGOs capacity in organisational management
to play and effective role in HIV/AIDS response in Lesotho.
In an interview with a participant, Ms. Neo Sekhamane said the
training comes at the time when NGOs needs to get an understanding
on good working relations with other staff members so that they can
share the same sentiments of a worker - friendly environment. “We
have lost the spirit of humanity that is why we are not
compassionate towards one another and our working environments, does
not unlock each other’s potentials”. She also added that she always
find it difficult that people that are in the fore front in the
fight against HIV/AIDS are the ones that sometimes discriminate the
people living with the disease.
Ms. Sekhamane said all the modules so far had been an eye opener and
she is ready to sharpen her leadership skills so that she would be
able to practice mentorship when she goes back to her organisation. |
