Human Rights Programme
The programme of human rights monitoring commenced on the 1st September 2005 with the aim of building the capacity of NGOs dealing with human rights issues in Lesotho, promoting and protecting human rights issues in Lesotho.

Since this is a pilot project, it only focuses on promoting and protecting the rights of the following groups;

  • Workers rights
  • Rights of police detainees

Prisoners rights
Police detainees
Rights of people on probation

The main goal is to create a civil society which respects, protects and promotes human rights in Lesotho.

This will be done through working with the relevant government departments on the subjects, striving for common goals and objectives since one the main mandate of NGOs is to compliment government programmes.
