NGO’s
under this sector provide social services such as health, welfare
and education. Members of the commission also carry out training of
the communities. The Human Resources and Development Commission is
responsible for building capacities of its members and ensuring that
skills of NGO’s personnel are developed so that the NGO’s in turn
can train their members. In addition, the commission takes keen
interest in issues related to education Lesotho and provide feedback
to both the Ministry of Education and other training institutions.
It has 14 member NGO's.
Under HRDC there are
two main programmes. These are Population and AIDS awareness.
Members have decided that the commission should develop
co-ordination programmes to facilitate effective co-ordination of
efforts in responding to different problems.
